Non-destructive testing is a very important activity in industry today because it can assess the integrity and usability of equipment or their pieces without destroying them, and thus saving cost and most importantly prevent damages both to people and to property.
There is different detection methods used in NDT which are selected based on material properties, geometry of the piece, capabilities of the method itself, etc. We offer the following methods:

Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT, DPT or PT)

The PT is the oldest and most used non-destructive testing method. It is used to detect visible cracks, pores, leaks on the surface of different types of materials.

This method consists of the application of a visible or fluorescent dye (liquid) onto an uncoated surface of a non-absorbent material. The dye enters or penetrates the discontinuities by capillary action. Afterwards, by applying a developer the dye resurfaces revealing where the discontinuity is.

Magnetic Particles Testing (MPT or MP)

This method is highly capable at identifying both surface and shallow subsurface discontinuities. It involves the magnetisation of a component, followed by the application of ferromagnetic particles. The particles align along discontinuities in the surface, or sub-surface discontinuities. Since, this method relies on magnetisation of a piece, its applicable only to ferromagnetic metals.

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

Ultrasonic testing is one of the popular Non -destructive testing methods for finding internal flaws. Basically, it employs high-frequency sound waves for evaluating a test component’s thickness or its internal structure. Also, it is used for monitoring for corrosion in existing equipment, such as pipelines, when performed frequently
